Ocean Safari in La Ventana
DAY TRIP FROM CABO SAN LUCAS
Mobula Rays & Megafauna Encounters
Swim Into the Wild in the Sea of Cortez
Skip the crowds and head to a full day adventure into the best of the Baja. This is a true Ocean Safari and an active exploration where we scout the blue for the unexpected: everything from dolphins and sea turtles to orcas, sea lions, migrating whales and more. Combined with the deep blue pelagic environment and the stunning desert coastline, La Ventana offers some of the most exciting opportunities in Baja California Sur for wild marine life observation.
Its unique ocean currents, baitfish concentrations, and pelagic migration routes converge here, creating the perfect conditions for megafauna sightings. This makes the region also world-renowned for its mobula rays. Especially during May and June, they gather in massive numbers, creating one of the largest marine migrations on the planet, making La Ventana area an exceptional destination for marine safaris.
Expedition Details
We head out early from Cabo San Lucas toward the wilder side of the Baja: La Ventana. Once there, we spend 5 to 6 hours on an Ocean Safari, scouting the open water for wildlife. Our route takes us near the iconic Isla Cerralvo (also known as Jacques Cousteau Island), where we’ll pull up to a beach for a fresh lunch with a view. After a full morning of exploration and encounters, we head back to shore to prepare for the drive back to Cabo.

Ethical Marine Safaris: Beyond Observation
Our expeditions are designed for those seeking a deep connection with the ocean. We prioritize animal welfare and ecosystem integrity, as well as the safety of our guests. As with any authentic safari, we move at the rhythm of nature; while sightings are spontaneous and never guaranteed, every journey is a unique experience. We adapt to each day's conditions, ensuring you are in the right place at the right moment to seek a life-changing marine encounter.
