Private Certification in Cabo San Lucas

You need to be at least 10 years old, feel comfortable swimming and complete a PADI medical questionnaire before the course. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. If you answer yes to any medical question, you may need a doctor's approval before diving, so we recommend checking the questionnaire before you travel.

Yes. The PADI eLearning is done online before your in-water sessions, so you arrive prepared and can focus fully on the practical part of the course in Cabo San Lucas.

The in-water part of the course takes three half days, starting in the pool and finishing with four ocean dives, with morning or afternoon sessions. Most students complete the eLearning at home over a few evenings before the trip.

Yes. Because this is a private Open Water course, we can build the schedule around your plans, including short breaks between sessions if arranged in advance. For the best learning experience, we recommend keeping the sessions fairly close together.

The course is designed to be accessible, but you'll need basic comfort in the water. As part of the PADI standards, you'll complete a simple swim test and float, and you should feel relaxed moving in the ocean.

Yes. After your pool training, you'll complete four open water dives in Cabo San Lucas, applying your skills in real ocean conditions under the direct supervision of your instructor.

While the focus is on training, our dives take place in areas full of Baja California Sur marine life, so you'll likely see tropical fish, reef species and other local wildlife while you learn.

That's completely normal. Our approach is calm and step by step, so you build confidence little by little, starting in the pool. With private instruction, your instructor is fully focused on you and adapts every session to how you feel.

The course requires completing specific skills to meet PADI standards. If some of them take more time, or you'd prefer to build more comfort first, you can complete the PADI Scuba Diver certification instead. It's a recognized certification that lets you keep diving with a professional while you continue developing your skills at your own pace.

Yes. If you've already completed part of your training, you can join our PADI Open Water Referral program and finish your open water dives with us in Cabo San Lucas.

The price depends on whether you train alone or with a friend or family member, and it includes private instruction, full scuba gear, PADI eLearning, pool and ocean training, drinks and snacks. You'll find the current prices in the Price & What's Included section of this page.

• Swimsuit, sunglasses and a hat or cap • A sweater or jacket for the boat • Seasickness medication, taken before boarding, if you need it Personal travel or medical insurance is not included, and gratuities for the captain and crew are always welcome but entirely up to you.

Since the course includes four ocean dives over more than one day, we recommend waiting at least 24 hours after your last dive before flying. If your flight is close to the end of your course, let us know when you book and we'll plan the schedule around it.
